After a long legal process against the real estate corruption on a property of the Iztacalco mayor’s office which began in 2018, the head of the demarcation, Armando Quintero, reported that it began the forced demolition of surplus apartments in the neighborhood Iztaccíhuatl North Reform.
The mayor explained that after six years of litigation, the 44th Civil Court ordered the elimination of two extra floors on a property located in Miramar Beach 386in said neighborhood, where a private individual built five levels, when land use allowed a maximum of three.

“During my administration we did not allow irregular constructions (…) so we went to Miramar Beach 386, Reforma Iztaccíhuatl Norte, to comply with the law and begin the demolition of a construction that violated the use of land, exceeding the permitted levels,” said Quintero when leading the demolition works.
Staff of the General Directorate of Works and Urban Development began with the demolition work, while the Executive Directorate of Legal Affairs carried out the legal part of the process, both areas are within the mayor’s office itself.
