The loss of the Medhi Narjissi sea on August 7 in South Africa continues to make waves and turn into a war in the FFR. In the internal investigation report whose decisions were made public on September 12, the Federation highlighted the responsibility of the staff of the France team, in particular Stéphane Cambos, the manager of the U18s, and Robin Ladauge, the physical coach.

Stéphane Cambos was quick to attack. As announced by Southwestthe engineer, suspended from his duties, decided to file a complaint against the FFR for defamation. According to him, it was not at the beginning of the exit off Dias Beach that turned into a nightmare. Cambos also accused Ladauge, who would have taken the initiative alone.

His lawyer Me Arnaud Dupin said in the daily Sud-Ouest: “Stéphane Cambos never took his young people to the beach. This fact is not shown anywhere. However, when he found that the bath was set up without his knowledge he went down to the beach. It is at this time that the physical trainer (Robin Ladaugh) and those around stopped the meeting. (…) If the river stops when Stéphane Cambos intervenes, because he does not agree with what is happening. »

The lawyer also mentioned the false accusation that he was his client because he had not jumped into the water to try to save the young man from a drowning.

“This report is irrelevant and misleading”

Me Dupin continued: “Either you are a rescuer with the right equipment, or you like Stéphane Cambos, and run to the first aid station and listen to the warning. Stéphane Cambos’ statements have been completely ignored. This report (of FFR) is unreasonable and insulting (…) In his report, the FFR questions the current organizational conditions while showing that Stéphane Cambos is aware of the dangers of the Dias Sea. This is equivalent to his choice being responsible for the disappearance of Medhi Narjissi. This is called execution. »

For Me Dupin, weights and measures vary in FFR depending on the cases. “Today, we are sacrificing a man, we are making him crazy, we are making all the evils a burden for him,” he shouted. We note that Florian Grill, President of the FFR, recalled during his trip to Argentina this summer (for the Auradou-Jegou case) the fundamental principle of our law which is the indifference of ignorance. Obviously, here, about Stéphane Cambos, you have forgotten him. However, it is not up to the President of the FFR to pronounce justice (…) In fact, this investigation is not one. A child is lost. Your family is waiting for the truth and not a combination of lies that make the truth. We see this through the FFR report which does not address offensive topics. »
