The El Jadida Horse Show, a showcase of the rich national equine heritage

by times news cr

This major event, organized from October 1 to 6 at the Mohammed VI Exhibition Park in El Jadida under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, reflects the particular interest that Moroccans have in horses throughout the ages, drawn from the rich heritage and ancestral traditions of the Kingdom.

Like its previous editions, the 15th El Jadida Horse Show, under the theme “Equine breeding in Morocco: innovation and challenge”, aims to be a place for meetings between all partners and stakeholders in horse breeding in Morocco, the aim being to encourage and promote a sector which embodies the most important national assets.

In addition to the cultural dimension of the Show, its socio-economic aspect remains of great importance, as evidenced by the presence of all the players active in the field of horse breeding, in particular craftsmen, small and medium-sized companies, in order to promote professions in the sector.

Indeed, the horse is an integral part of the history and culture of the Kingdom. From the breeding of horses to their training, from the science of horses to their literature, including, among others, Fantasia, the theme of horses remains omnipresent in the collective memory of Moroccans over the centuries.

This interest has manifested itself, in recent years, in the organization of various equine activities, including breeding, show jumping and traditional equestrian arts competitions, as well as annual national competitions to choose, among others, the best “sorba”, the best rider, the best horse.

Organized by the Association du Salon du Cheval, this event offers numerous spaces combined in a unique architectural setting. These are stands dedicated to the regions, the arts, in addition to equestrian sports and national championships.

After the 1st stage in Tetouan and the 2nd in Rabat, the 3rd stage of the Morocco Royal Tour of show jumping will also be held as part of the El Jadida Show with the participation of the best Moroccan riders alongside eminent foreign riders.

This edition also sees the holding of the HM King Mohammed VI Grand Prix of traditional equestrian sports “Tbourida” with the participation of sorbas representing the different regions of the Kingdom.

It also includes several stands, including that of the Royal Armed Forces, the Royal Guard, the Royal Gendarmerie, the National Security and the Auxiliary Forces, as well as the stands of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Equestrian Sports, the Royal Sports Complex Equestrian Dar Es Salam and the Royal Society for the Encouragement of the Horse.

In addition, several seminars and conferences dealing with several social, economic, cultural and historical themes are planned.
