The data from the black box of the crashed L-39 aircraft was successfully downloaded and provided to the investigative team of the Military Prosecutor’s Office. This was announced by the Ministry of Defense on its official website.

“The information is yet to be read and analyzed in order to objectively determine the reasons that led to the tragic incident,” they add.

“The sending of the black box to the Czech Republic was aimed at providing a categorical guarantee for the successful recording of the data, which is a prerequisite both for objectivity and for an accurate and complete determination of the causes of the accident,” the ministry adds. In their words, the reading and analysis of the data will take a certain technological time, after which the results will be released.

Initial reports indicate that the probable cause of the crash was low flight before vertical gain.

The two pilots Petko Dimitrov Dimitrov and Ventsislav Atanasov died during training for demonstration flights, which were supposed to take place within the framework of an event on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Bulgaria’s accession to NATO.
