The Presidential Council praises France’s interest in the Libyan political file

The two representatives of the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni and Abdullah Al-Lafi, praised the interest that France paid to the Libyan political file, and stressed the need for the international community to support Libyan-led solutions to achieve stability.

This came during their reception today, Monday, at the Council’s headquarters in Tripoli, the French President’s special envoy to Libya, Paul Soler.

According to what was reported by the Council’s Media Office, at the beginning of the meeting, the envoy conveyed the greetings of President Emmanuel Macron to the Presidential Council, and stressed his country’s continued support for efforts to achieve stability in Libya.

During the meeting, which was attended by the French Ambassador to Libya, Mustafa Maharaj, a number of bilateral files were discussed, and developments in the political situation in the country, especially the political impasse that the country has been experiencing for months.

The French envoy stressed that his country places the Libyan file among its first concerns, and seeks to help Libya get out of the political impasse by communicating with all political parties, to achieve stability and reach elections through Libyan solutions. He pointed out that his country continues to consult with countries interested in the Libyan issue, to find an appropriate formula that contributes to Solution to the Libyan crisis.

The Special Envoy also praised the presidential administration’s response to developments in the scene in the recent period, and its ability to take steps that would help end the current political stagnation, according to him.
