(ANSA) – RECANATI (MACERATA), SEPTEMBER 30 – Play as a tool to enhance the psycho-physical well-being of everyone at any age. This is the objective of two initiatives “Never stop playing. The social value of gaming”, promoted by the University of Macerata in collaboration with Clementoni, a leading company from Recanati (Macerata) in the educational gaming sector.
The first appointment will be held on Wednesday 2 October, on the occasion of International Grandparents’ Day. Grandparents and grandchildren (particularly in the 6-10 year age group) will be invited to participate together in moments of play in the courtyard of the university building in Corso Garibaldi 20, from 4.30pm to 6.30pm. A second appointment is then scheduled, in which “The brain at different ages of life” and “Play as a tool for intergenerational dialogue” will be discussed, during which the results of the research conducted in the last year in some centers will be presented specialists from the Marche region (such as Auser, Caffè Alzheimer and Residences for the elderly), focused on the well-being perceived by the elderly, both in good health and suffering from pathologies such as Alzheimer’s and dementia, who participated in gaming workshops.
“Thanks to valuable collaborations with local associations and structures, we are discovering new and surprising potential of the game in promoting well-being and intergenerational dialogue”, commented Clementoni’s director of Advanced Research, Pierpaolo Clementoni. (HANDLE).
