Before touring the subcontinent, teams like Australia, New Zealand, England always send advance security delegations to the respective countries to see the security arrangements. Due to the recent political change in Bangladesh and previous events, South Africa also sent their security delegation for the first time.

Green signal on security, coming to South Africa on October 16

Cricket South Africa operations manager Sivuli Mkingwana, independent security expert Brian Khanto and South African Cricketers’ Association representative Farhan Behardin arrived in Bangladesh on a three-day visit last week. The team was led by South African security expert Rory Steyn. After the four-member report, South Africa Cricket has given the green signal to tour Bangladesh.

They finalized the series only after receiving the green signal from the delegation regarding Bangladesh’s security arrangements. South Africa will step into Dhaka on October 16 to play two Tests of the Test Championship. The first match of the series will be held at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla on October 21. The second match will be played at Jahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on October 29. Cricket South Africa has also issued a press release finalizing the series schedule. Which has been confirmed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

The South African cricketers’ association was concerned about security in the changing situation in Bangladesh. It was because of their concern that the cricket South African delegation came to Bangladesh. First they observed the facilities and security situation of Chittagong. They see the way of the stadium, the hotel, the security system inside the stadium.

The next day, the delegation came to Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Dhaka. There, a special team of the Bangladesh Army showed the delegation a 20-22 minute security drill. This will be the first visit of a foreign cricket team to Bangladesh under the changed circumstances. So the organizers are not making any mistake about security.
