The Japanese Martial Arts and Culture Association (YDNMA, a member of the International Jiu-Jitsu Federation), which received accreditation from the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Azerbaijan, became the official representative of the federation in the country, the press service told Day.Az YDNMA.

A meeting of the Association Board of Directors was held at the YDNMA head office in the EGP Arena, where a number of issues were discussed and a number of decisions were made, and preparations for the Azerbaijan Jiu-Jitsu Championship, which will be held at the end of this year, were discussed.

President of YDNMA Atil Agamirov noted that the goal is to develop Japanese martial arts in Azerbaijan and promote the culture of the Land of the Rising Sun. A jiu-jitsu sector was created as part of YDNMA, the director of which was appointed the Honored Trainer of Azerbaijan, the head of the Samurai fight club, holder of the 6th dan, actor Ali Jafarov. Chairman of the YDNMA organizing committee Elshad Kerimov was elected to the position of Secretary General.

“We invite sports organizations, coaches, judges and athletes involved in this sport to take an active part in the development of jiu-jitsu in Azerbaijan and achieve success in the international arena!” said Atil Agamirov.
