The last phase of elections in Uttar Pradesh will be held on March 7. Voting is taking place in a total of 54 constituencies on the day.

The state of Uttar Pradesh is holding elections in 7 phases. The 5th phase of elections has been completed so far and today the 6th phase of elections was held. The polls were held in 57 constituencies in Ambedkar Nagar, Balrampur, Siddharth Nagar, Basti, Chand Kabir Nagar, Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Theoria and Pallia districts.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is contesting from Gorakhpur constituency where polling was held today. A total of 676 candidates are in the fray in today’s polls, including state Congress leader Ajay Kumar Lallu and resigned BJP minister Swami Prasad Maurya of the Samajwadi Party.

Voting began at 7 a.m. and ended at 6 p.m. Political leaders, candidates and key figures voted early in the morning. Voting was brisk in the afternoon. A large number of voters waited in line and performed their democratic duty. As of 3 p.m., 46.70 percent of the vote had been cast. As of 5 p.m., 53.31 percent of the vote had been cast.

The last phase of elections will take place on March 7. Voting is taking place in a total of 54 constituencies on the day. The votes will be counted on March 10.
