This series, which will revive the classic 1989 novel, which will be produced by Ventanarosa Productions, Endemol Shine North America and Endemol Shine Boomdog, will arrive in the catalog next November 3.

What will “Like Water for Chocolate” be about?
This project, although it will be based on the novel by Laura Esquivel, will also explore the idea that sometimes traditions can become a prison and an obstacle to love.
“Tita de la Garza and Pedro Múzquiz are two souls deeply in love, but unable to be together due to deep-rooted family customs. Our protagonists will navigate a world of magical realism and rich flavors while Tita is torn between the destiny imposed on her by her family and her fight for love… Along the way, the audience will witness her greatest refuge: the kitchen. For Tita, her magical connection with cooking will become an active resistance against oppression, allowing her to channel her deepest desires and passions into her recipes, transforming those who try them,” reads a statement.
On the other hand, the story that will be set in times of the Revolution will also address the issue of women’s struggle to control their own destiny.

This project, which is executive produced by Salma Hayek Pinault, José Tamez and Siobhan Flynn of Ventanarosa Productions; Sharon Levy, Lisa Fahrenholt and Flavio Morales on behalf of Endemol Shine North America; Alejandro Rincón, Clara Machado, the showrunner of the series, Jerry Rodríguez and Manuel Vargas, who supervised the physical production, for Endemol Shine Boomdog; and Mariano Cesar, Mónica Alburquerque and Anouk Aarón on behalf of Warner Bros.
