New Delhi: The list of bank holidays for the next month i.e. October has arrived. Banks will remain closed for a total of 15 days in different states in October. These holidays will be due to the festivals celebrated in these states. There are some festivals due to which there will be bank holidays in the entire country. Also, banks will remain closed next month due to elections in some states. A total of 15 holidays also include holidays on Sunday and the second and fourth Saturday of the month.

There will be holidays due to these reasons
Bank holidays in October include General Elections to the State Legislative Assembly 2024, Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti/Mahalaya Amavasya, Navratri Sthapana, Durga Puja, Dussehra (Maha Saptami), Dussehra (Mahashtami/Mahanavami), Ayudha Puja, Durga Puja, Durga Ashtami, Dussehra/ Dussehra (Mahanavami/Vijayadashami), Durga Puja (Dasain), Lakshmi Puja, Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti, Kati Bihu, Accession Day, Diwali, Kali Puja, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Birthday, Narak Chaturdashi etc.
Know on which day and where the holiday will be held
1 October: Assembly elections will be held in Jammu. Therefore banks will remain closed in Jammu.
2 October: Gandhi Jayanti and Mahalaya Amavasya. Banks will remain closed across the country on this occasion.
3 October: Banks will remain closed in Rajasthan due to the establishment of Navratri.
6 October: Banks will remain closed across the country on Sunday.
10 October: Banks will remain closed in Tripura, Assam, Nagaland, Bengal due to Durga Puja/Dussehra (Maha Saptami).
11 October: Due to Dussehra and other festivals, banks will remain closed in states like Tripura, Karnataka, Odisha, Sikkim, Manipur etc.
12 October: Second Saturday of the month. Banks will remain closed throughout the country.
13 October: Banks will remain closed across the country on Sunday.
14 October: There will be a bank holiday in Sikkim due to Durga Puja (Dassain).
16 October: Banks will remain closed in Tripura and Bengal due to Lakshmi Puja.
17 October: Due to Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti/Kati Bihu, banks will not function in Karnataka, Assam, Himachal Pradesh.
20 October: Banks will remain closed across the country on Sunday.
26 October: Banks will remain closed in Jammu and Srinagar due to Accession Day.
27 October: Banks will remain closed across the country on Sunday.
31st October: Diwali/Kali Puja/Birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel/Narak Chaturdashi. Due to this, banks will remain closed in most of the states except Tripura, Maharashtra, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Manipur, Meghalaya.
Use online banking
In case of bank closure, use online banking for any type of transaction. If you want to withdraw money, you can go to ATM and withdraw it. Net banking or mobile banking can also be used to transfer money. You can also use UPI for transactions. There is no impact on UPI service on holidays. Apart from this you can also use mobile banking.
