Interior adviser calls for more manpower in UAE

Home Affairs Adviser Lt. Gen. Md. urged to take more manpower in various sectors including the private security sector from Bangladesh to the United Arab Emirates. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.).

He made this call when he went to meet Abdullah Ali Khaseif Alhamoudi, the United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Bangladesh, in his office at the Secretariat on Sunday (September 29) afternoon.

During the meeting, development of mutual relations between the two countries, increase in export of manpower, security of embassy area, technical cooperation in e-visa sector and other issues related to mutual interest were discussed.

In the meeting, the interior adviser said, ‘United Arab Emirates is the first to recognize Bangladesh among the Gulf countries. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, bilateral relations between the two countries have reached a unique height through mutual cooperation. We want to not only continue this relationship, but take it further.’

Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury said, “At present, most remittances come to Bangladesh from the United Arab Emirates in the whole world.”

Calling Bangladeshi workers more skilled and professional, he said, ‘Bangladeshis are working with skill and reputation in various sectors including banking, engineering sector of United Arab Emirates.’

When the ambassador asked about the security of the embassy area, the home adviser said, “Apart from the regular security forces, a battalion of Ansar has been deployed there.”

When the ambassador told about the need for security personnel in the private sector of the United Arab Emirates, the adviser requested the recruitment of battalion Ansar from Bangladesh in this sector. The advisor said that subject to consensus between the two countries, an agreement can be signed at the ministry level.

The Ambassador assured full cooperation from UAE for technical assistance in launching e-Visa in Bangladesh. The adviser welcomed this and said, ‘Next steps will be taken soon in this regard.’

Altaf Hossain, Economic Analyst of the UAE Embassy in Dhaka and Amir Hossain, Public Relations Officer of the Embassy, ​​and senior officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs were present in the meeting.
