(24News) Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader and Senator Sherry Rehman has said that the creator of the constitution is the parliament, our effort is to establish a constitutional court according to the 2006 democratic charter.
Parliamentary Leader of People’s Party Senator Sherry Rehman spoke to the media, on this occasion Syed Nir Hussain Bukhari and Senator Shahadat Awan were also present.
Talking to the media, the woman leader of the People’s Party, Sherry Rehman, said that today we have held consultation meetings with our allies ANP and Muslim League (Q). Parliament is the creator of the constitution. If the Constitutional Court is established, there would be cases in the courts for years due to which the number of pending cases is increasing, why does the Parliament not do anything to assert its right?
He said that our effort is that the process of constitutional amendments should not be for individuals alone, we want the provinces to be represented in the Federal Constitutional Court, we are trying to create a consensus, we are taking our allies on board. Meeting with our lawyers and civil society in this regard, we want to expand the scope of partnership.
He further said that on the direction of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, let us all walk together, the impression should not be created that the bill should be brought through the door by a thief in the dark of night, this is not our style.
