“’Helene’ is now (is) an extremely dangerous Category 4 hurricane. “A NOAA hurricane hunting aircraft investigating Helene recently discovered that maximum sustained winds have increased to 215 km/h,” the NHC said.
The NHC predicts that Hurricane ‘Helene’, located in the Gulf of Mexico, will impact northwest Florida in a few hours.
For this reason, US authorities ordered the evacuation of areas near the coasts, fearing storm surges and strong winds.
According to AFP, most stores have closed and many have their windows protected by wooden planks and sandbags.

While to the north, in Tallahassee, the capital of Florida, the Red Cross is working around the clock to shelter those who have nowhere to go during the cyclone. In some makeshift shelters, some have already installed pillows and cushions on the floor so that people can try to spend the hours as comfortably as possible.
On the other hand, the remnants of ‘Helene’ will cause rain in parts of the Mexican territory such as Campeche, Quintana Roo, Yucatán, Tamaulipas and Veracruz.
