Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Tuesday slammed opposition parties in Maharashtra for criticizing the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Behan Yojana. Yadav said, ‘The opposition has been stunned by the success of this scheme and they have realized that they are losing the assembly elections in Maharashtra.’

CM went on tour

The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister was in Pune to visit Shivshrishti Theme Park and Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini in Ambegaon. While talking to journalists after Shivshrishti visit, Yadav fiercely targeted the opposition in Maharashtra.

Yadav said, ‘The opposition has done nothing for the common people. When they were in power, they only looted public money. Now, when they came to know that the Girl Sister Scheme of the present state government is becoming popular, they have realized that they are on the verge of losing the assembly elections in Maharashtra.’

took a fierce dig at Congress

He said, ‘I come from Madhya Pradesh, where they (Congress) were kept away from the government for decades. Once they accidentally managed to form a government, but it was short-lived and they are back in opposition. When it comes to Maharashtra, people of the state are more aware and they understand the contribution of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP to the country and the state. Therefore, I am confident that people will once again support the BJP-led alliance to form the government in Maharashtra.

States are copying Ladli Behna

The Chief Minister said, ‘Madhya Pradesh was the first state in the country to launch the Mukhyamantri Laadli Behna Yojana, which has now been replicated in Maharashtra also. Yadav said, ‘In this scheme, the money goes directly into the hands of the women beneficiaries, which they use for their respective families. I am happy that many states are adopting this scheme, which is an important step towards women empowerment.
