The rout of the night in the Champions League comes to us from Germany, where Borussia Dortmund hosted and defeated Celtic, 7-1, in a match counting towards the second phase of the league.
After the pre-match excitement in the stands, the game also started with intensity: Emre Can scored 1-0 in the seventh minute from a penalty, and the Scots, with Paulo Bernardo, equalized immediately afterwards through Maeda (former Marítimo player).
From that point on, however, it was all Dortmund.
Karim Adeyemi made it 2-1 in the 11th minute and scored again before the half-hour mark. Guirassy, in the 40th minute, scored 4-1 from a penalty, and before halftime, Adeyemi completed his hat-trick.
In the second half, Guirassy scored again (66m) and Felix Nmecha wrapped up the scoring as the game approached the last ten minutes.
Dortmund leads the Champions League’s league phase with six points, while Celtic sits in 19th place.
