“It wasn’t my organization. I worked with other people, yes, but I wasn’t the boss and I only sold marijuana, not cocaine.”He replied. Mohamed-Amin Dardour, Youssef Jeddi and Younes Bakkali are accused of one murder and two attempted murders in July 2020 on Rue Orban in Forest.

The President of the Court also interrogated Mohammed-Amin Dardour about his lifestyle at the material time. The investigation revealed that he regularly went on holidays, played in casinos and rented luxury cars. “I made a lot of money working refrigerators at night for a while, and my family also helped me a lot. And as I told you, I sold a little marijuana.”he explained.

When asked specifically about his activities and his schedule in July 2020, the accused appeared angry. “So far in this investigation I have refused to answer questions from police officers. If I agree to speak today, it is because there is a jury and there are people.”He made the announcement while referring to the errors made by the first police officers in charge of the investigation.

From the report of Committee P it appears that these police officers had appointed three individuals to search for the perpetrators of the shooting of Soufiane Benali. These three men, well known to the police and justice services, were considered the ringleaders of the Orbán district. They apparently arrested several youths, who then denounced Mohammed-Amin Dardour and Youssef Jeddi as the perpetrators of the shootings. “Everything has been done to say this is dardor. Even the lawyers are shocked.”The accused said.

At around 12:30 on July 5, 2020, shots were fired on Rue Alfred Orban in Forest. The lifeless body of Sufiyan Benali, a 23-year-old youth living in the neighbourhood, was found lying in front of the laundry room. Two other men, Amin Jeddi and Adnane Mahroug, were injured.

The investigation was handed over to the “Silva” brigade of the Brussels-Midi police region, the team responsible for combating vandalism in this district. The first elements they collected made it possible to learn that people named Mohammed-Amin Dardour and Youssef Djedi were the perpetrators of the shootings, carried out using a machine gun.

However, due to serious errors made by the “Silva” brigade, on 8 July the investigation passed into the hands of the Federal Judicial Police (PJF) in Brussels.

The criminal investigation, restarted from the beginning, led, among others, to Mohammed-Amin Dardour, Youssef Jeddi and Younes Bakkali. The three men are charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder.

Mohammed-Amin Dardour may have been the head of a cartel active in the sale of cannabis and cocaine since 2018, one of whose “selling points” was the Orbán district. Yusuf Jeddi would have been his right-hand man, while Yunus would have been the person responsible for coordinating the Bakkali vendors.

According to some witnesses, Sufyan Benali was a narcotics dealer and competed with sellers from Dardour in the Orban district. According to other witnesses, Sufyan Benali was not involved in drug trafficking in any way, and on the contrary he fought to end these illegal sales in his living environment.

The interrogation of the accused will continue on Wednesday also.
