Phoenix and Midas Finance will not pay dividends

The board of directors of two listed companies have announced not to pay dividends to shareholders. The board of directors of the two companies has taken this decision for the shareholders after reviewing the audited financial reports for the financial year ended June 30, 2023.

Phoenix and Midas Finance will not pay dividends

The two companies are Phoenix Finance and Investment Limited and Midas Financing Plc. On Tuesday (October 1), this information was revealed by Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchange (DSE-CSE).

This decision regarding the dividend was taken after reviewing and approving the audited financial report of the last financial year in the board meeting of the companies held earlier on Monday (September 30).

PHOENIX FINANCE: As per the financial report for the year ended, the loss per share (EPS) of the company was Rs.(42.52). The loss per share of the company in the previous financial year was Rs.(8.36). As on June 30, 2024, the company’s negative net asset value per share (NAVPS) stood at Rs (33.28). The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the company will be held on the digital platform on December 12 to approve the decision not to pay the dividend. And the record date in this regard has been fixed on October 24.

Midas Financing: As per the financial report for the year ended the company has a loss per share of Rs.(4.66). The profit per share of the company in the previous financial year was Rs.0.06. On June 30, 2023, the company’s net assets per share stood at Tk 6.79. The annual general meeting (AGM) of the company will be held on November 14 in the hybrid system to approve the decision not to pay the dividend. The record date in this regard has been fixed on 22 October.
