Some of them are capable of reaching Europe…the Iranian missiles that targeted Israel

by times news cr

During the attack on Tuesday, Iran used ballistic missiles on Israeli military targets. It is one of its most prominent hypersonic missiles, known as “Fattah-1” and “Fattah-2,” which has a range of up to 1,500 kilometers.

Iran has the largest and most diverse missile arsenal in the Middle East, with thousands of ballistic and cruise missiles, and some of these missiles are capable of striking areas as far away as Israel and southeastern Europe.

Iran has invested heavily to improve the accuracy and destructive ability of these weapons, making its missile power a real threat to American and allied military forces in the region.

The Missile Threat website reviewed the most prominent missiles in the Iranian arsenal, some of which can directly strike Israel and American bases in the region.

This time it did not use suicide drones or cruise missiles because they are more vulnerable to air defense

“Fattah-1”
Although Iran announced the manufacture of this missile two years ago, it returned to the forefront again after Iranian media reported that the Revolutionary Guard used the missile for the first time in its recent attack on Israel.

According to the Army Technology website, the Fattah-1 missile is the first Iranian hypersonic ballistic missile, and its speed ranges between 13 to 15 times the speed of sound, while its range reaches 1,400 kilometers.

“Fattah-2”
Iran also used its second hypersonic missile, Fattah-2, in its latest response to Israel. The Iranian Mehr Agency said that the Revolutionary Guard used it to destroy the Israeli Arrow 2 and Arrow 3 missile defense systems.

Iran announced this missile for the first time during Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s visit to a Revolutionary Guard facility in November 2023. It is a liquid-fuel missile with a range of up to 1,500 kilometers, according to the Army Recognition website, which specializes in military affairs.

The missile can carry a warhead weighing 450 kilometres, and has a superior ability to maneuver and bypass enemy missile defenses. The diameter of the missile is about one meter, its length is approximately 15.3 meters, and its weight upon launch is about 12 tons.

This missile uses the INU inertial navigation system and the GNSS global navigation satellite system, which gives it the ability to maintain its course with high accuracy.

“Able-1”
The “Qader-1” missile is an upgraded version of the original “Shahab-3” missile, and has a range of up to 1,950 kilometers, according to the Missile Threat website.

The length of the missile is 16.6 meters, its diameter is 1.25 meters, and it can carry a warhead weighing 800 kilograms, while its total weight at launch is 19 thousand kilograms.

The Qader-1 missile is considered a medium-range ballistic missile, while Iran revealed it for the first time in 2007.

“Imad” missile
The “Imad” missile has a range of 1,700 kilometers and can carry a warhead weighing 750 kilograms. Its diameter is 1.38 meters and its length is 16.5 meters.
