During the Piñera government, the university was positioned as one of the largest suppliers to the State, since it registered a total of more than $7,000 million in purchase orders, where $5.7 billion were delivered by the Undersecretary of Education, for different teacher training programs and technical advice for teacher evaluation.

Of these $5,700 million, $1,479 million were managed during Cubillos’ time through the Mineduc, in contrast to the $9 million and $144 million that the San Sebastián University received, in 2016 and 2017, before Piñera’s return to La Moneda.

In the first year of Gabriel Boric’s mandate, the USS obtained $3,642 million, since in 2022 it agreed to various agreements signed in the previous administration, such as the contract for the COVID-19 clinical sample analysis service, which amounted to almost $2 billion. After that year, purchase orders were reduced to $515 million in 2023.
