The three-time absolute world champion in rhythmic gymnastics, Maria Petrova, was the chief judge and tested the new evaluation system in the sport during the 30th anniversary edition of the “AEON Cup” tournament, which was held in the Japanese capital, Tokyo.

Petrova is also the second vice-president of the BFHG and a member of the Technical Committee of the International Federation. A curious fact is that in the first edition back in 1994, she participated as a contestant, and three decades later as a judge.

“One of the important tasks that I was able to check here was the system, which in the future can be used both to evaluate the judges and to serve in evaluating the gymnasts in “live time”, i.e. the judges give in real time time the assessments on the tablet, the system takes them over and the assessment is broadcast,” said Maria Petrova on the BFHG profile on Instagram.

The format of the competition in Tokyo was elimination. There were qualifiers in which 15 clubs took part, and the competition itself is called the “Club World Cup”.

Sofia Raffaelli (Italy) became the women’s champion, followed by Alina Harnasco (neutral athlete) and the representative of Ukraine – Taisia Onofrichuk (Ukraine). Taisiya Redka (Ukraine) won gold in the girls’ category. The club champion is the “Burlo/Pacific” team.
