The film explores the dynamics of family relationships.

The three-time Oscar-winning actor, Daniel Day-Lewis, returns to acting after 7 years with the film “Anemone” from Focus Features and Plan B, according to Deadline. Directed by his son, Ronan Day-Lewis, and with a screenplay they co-wrote, the film explores the dynamics of family relationships. Alongside him are Sean Bean, Samantha Morton, Samuel Bottomley, and Safia Oakley-Green.

Filming is currently taking place in Manchester, with cinematographer Ben Fondersman, award-winning costume designer Jane Petrie, and Chris Ody as the production designer.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be working with a brilliant visual artist, Ronan Day-Lewis, on his first feature film, alongside Daniel Day-Lewis. They have written a truly exceptional script and we look forward to showcasing their shared vision along with the team at Plan B.”, said Focus Features president Peter Kujawski.

Universal Pictures International will handle the film’s distribution overseas. According to the Daily Mail, the famous actor was “spotted” by the camera lens last Sunday shooting some scenes for the film. With a mustache and wearing glasses, he was riding a motorcycle with Sean Bean by his side.

It is noted that in 2017, after his performance in “Phantom Thread” by Paul Thomas Anderson, Daniel Day-Lewis announced his retirement from acting. In 1990, he won his first Oscar for his role in Jim Sheridan’s film “My Left Foot,” followed by two more for his performances in “There Will Be Blood” in 2007 directed by Anderson and in “Lincoln” by Steven Spielberg in 2012.
