The Polish Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned Iran’s attack on Israel, fully agreeing with the position of EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell, Polish news agency PAP reported, quoted by BTA.

Poland, in solidarity with the EU, remains deeply committed to reducing tensions and working towards de-escalation in the region, the ministry’s statement said.

“Poland fully supports the statement of the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Josep Borrell regarding yesterday’s attack by Iran against Israel. This attack further exacerbates the already tense situation in the Middle East,” the foreign ministry said.

The Polish government urged all parties involved to exercise “maximum restraint”, warning that the risk of regional conflict was becoming more real.

The international community, including the US and NATO, has strongly condemned Iran’s actions. On behalf of the EU, Borrell condemned Iran’s attack on Israel, warning that a dangerous cycle of attacks and retaliation could spiral out of control. He called for an immediate ceasefire in the entire region.

Yesterday evening, Iran fired ballistic missiles at Israel, claiming the strikes were in retaliation for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Iranian General Abbas Nilforoushan. The Israeli military said it had intercepted most of the 180 rockets fired.
