jpnn.comSUMSEL – Member of the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) of South Sumatra Province (Sumsel) H. Chairul S Matdiah, SH., MH opened his voice regarding the issue of the Acting Governor of South Sumatra, Elen Setiadi, rotating echelon 2 and echelon 3 positions within the South Sumatra Provincial Government before Simultaneous Regional Elections 2024.

According to him, Acting Governor Elen Setiadi should focus on carrying out one of the tasks entrusted to him, namely ensuring the successful implementation of the Simultaneous Regional Elections, both the Election of Governor and Deputy Governor as well as the Election of Regional Heads in 17 Regencies/Cities throughout South Sumatra.

“It is very unethical for the Acting Governor to rotate positions when the regional elections are approaching. In fact, issues like this will create noise and discomfort for ASN officials and staff in their work serving the community. “Moreover, the rotation before the Pilkada can certainly have political content that is not good if carried out by an Acting Governor,” said the politician from the South Sumatra Democratic Party.

Chairul S hopes that the State Civil Service Agency (BKN) and the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) will not get carried away by the political maneuvers of the Acting Governor of South Sumatra, Elen Setiadi, which he believes will endanger the course of democracy in South Sumatra.

“We also hope that BKN and the Minister of Home Affairs will not join in the political maneuvering of the Acting Governor of South Sumatra. “So that the conduciveness of the South Sumatra region is maintained with a peaceful and safe atmosphere,” he said.

On the other hand, the Deputy for Central BKN Personnel Management Development, Drs. Haryomo Dwi Putranto M. Hum. suggests reporting to the central and regional Bawaslu and after that it will be followed up according to BKN’s authority.

“Later we will follow up according to our respective authorities,” he said when confirmed via WhatsApp.

Meanwhile, the Acting (Pj) Governor of South Sumatra, Elen Setiadi, said that his party had submitted a request to the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

“There is a process and procedure, we have submitted the application, but we have not received the results from the center, we will just wait,” said Elen Setiadi.

According to him, let alone in government, there are also football players coming in and out.

This is done so that it can be escalated to accelerate performance.

“I’ve been here for three months. So, I see that there are things that are right, there are things that are fast, there are things that are slow, there are things that are half as fast and there are even things that are not quite right. We don’t lay people off,” he said.

Moreover, according to him, there are also several positions that are still vacant which are held by plh, acting, etc. This was done to build South Sumatra.

Chairul S Matdiah, SH., MH opened his voice regarding the issue that the Acting Governor of South Sumatra, Elen Setiadi, will rotate positions on a large scale ahead of the simultaneous regional elections.
