Carlos Ariel Osorio Rivera, the winningest coach in women’s soccer in Risaralda, will have a great opportunity in his sports career after having been presented and made official yesterday before the Antioquia media as the new coach of Deportivo Independiente Medellín women’s team, to face the League Professional of 2025. This is undoubtedly the most important leap that a women’s soccer coach in our department takes in his process, taking into account the importance of the club he joins.

Osorio knows that he assumes a great responsibility not only with the Antioquia club, but as the ambassador to continue paving the way for the other female coaches in the department: “Very happy with this new opportunity that comes for my career, obviously it is the way to pave the way and to make known the great work of the Risraldense trainers and coaches and what more beautiful opportunity than in a great institution such as Independiente Medellín.”

“We gave ourselves completely to the institution of Deportivo Pereira in those two wonderful years that we were able to share there and that has always been the motto, honest, transparent work, with love, with passion and today this wonderful opportunity opens in a such a big club and it is the way in which, from our profession, we continue to deliver all this knowledge at the service of women’s football in our country.”

“It is not easy for a coach from Rizal to make a way in a region like Antioquia where we know it is the mecca of football, so we are very happy and with the conviction of doing a great job that leaves a mark and also allows us to make a way for our colleagues to future”.

“I am a man of processes, I do not like to improvise and these were many of the things that seduced me to be in this sports project and it is the conviction they have of a project with foundations, with time and with a solid structure and it is the great path that begins today in the institution. All these months leading up to the league, which may begin in February, are very important and speak of the seriousness of what we want to achieve in 2025.”

Osorio Rivera, who in 2022 was champion with the Risaralda U-17 women’s team, thus giving the league the first national title, will close his cycle with the department in the National Youth Games that will be in November. “It is a topic that is clear, due to the commitment that was had and I think that there closes a beautiful cycle that we will always leave the door open for the love and immense affection that I have for my department, my region and my house and well, On this path, what we simply want is to go out and make known and show the product of all these years and the accumulated experience,” he points out.

Carlos Ariel Osorio was awarded last year among the three best coaches of women’s football in Colombia in 2023.
