Recalling that Morocco was among the first countries to contribute to the implementation and application of the SPC, the Moroccan official indicated that the modernization of this system will allow the countries of the Organization to meet the major challenges imposed by the rapid developments that the world is experiencing in several areas.
“Among the most important challenges that encourage us to modernize this system are those related to the promotion and valorization of production chains, as well as the return of many countries to adopt a protectionist policy in the field of foreign trade “, he added.
Morocco, he said, proposes that the future SPC action plan “includes an important part dedicated to accelerating the updating of this system, according to a version that encourages the private sector of our countries to contribute to the strengthening of intra-OIC trade.
“We also support the proposal to subsequently open up to new areas to support new generation international trade agreements, such as trade in services, e-commerce, as well as the encouragement and protection of investments for strengthen this system,” continued Mr. Rahal.
And to conclude that the Kingdom renews its call for the need to combine common efforts to achieve the objectives of the OIC ten-year program, with its economic and commercial dimensions, noting that the SPC is one of its most important tools .
The SPC among OIC Member States, which came into force since December 2014, is considered one of the most important projects and mechanisms adopted to strengthen intra-OIC trade and consolidate economic integration and opportunities. investment within the Islamic space.
