Marine Tondelier, current national secretary of Europe Ecologie-Les Verts (EELV), intends to run for a new mandate. The announcement was made Thursday in a letter sent to members of his party who will meet next spring during the political party congress.
“I will soon have the opportunity to ask for your trust again, as I did two years ago at the Rungis congress”, wrote the national secretary in this letter consulted by AFP. The ecologists boss also rejoiced “at the newfound internal cohesion, at the end of the little mutual murderous phrases in the press”.
“Building a new party”
In her letter, Marine Tondelier recalls the course she had then. He explains that he has always wanted to “build a new environmentalist party, affirm our political identity, contribute to the meeting of left-wing and environmentalist forces in view of 2027, establish stronger links with civil society and strengthen our activist base. and understanding.”
In fact, upon his arrival at the helm of the party, he chose to launch a movement, the Ecologists, intended to replace the Europe Ecologie-Les Verts (EELV) party. His goal is to gather one million supporters, knowing that there are currently 200,000. In December 2022, Marine Tondelier was easily elected head of the EELV, with almost 91% of the vote, replacing Julien Bayou.
