MPs from the main opposition Democratic Party (DP) of Albania placed at the entrance of the Albanian parliament four dolls with the faces of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, his brother Olsi Rama, the ruling Socialist Party (SP) MP and former interior minister Fatmir Jafai and brother to Geron Jafai, Euronews Albania reported.

The dolls, dressed in prison clothes, were doused with gasoline in front of the central entrance of the parliament and set on fire by opposition MP Fljamur Noka.

The opposition MPs accuse the politicians’ brothers from the ruling party of drug trafficking.

Today’s plenary session was marred by debates and violent physical clashes between opposition MPs and the ruling majority, after opposition representatives took chairs from parliament and set them on fire in front of its central entrance on Monday.

As a result of this and throwing objects at the Speaker of the Albanian Parliament Elisa Spiropali, the Secretariat for Ethics in the Albanian Parliament suspended 24 opposition MPs from the plenary sessions and inquiry committees for different periods of time, writes BTA.

The expelled DP MPs and their colleagues blocked the entrances to the parliament today, preventing the socialists from entering the hall, which resulted in a physical altercation between MPs from both political camps and the intervention of security.

However, the representatives of the SP entered through the side entrances of the parliament and the plenary session started with a delay.
