Mominul Islam has been elected as the new chairman of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) PLC. He was the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IPDC Finance Limited, a non-banking financial institution (NBFI).

According to the press release, Mominul Islam has 25 years of working experience in strategic, technical, capital market business, products, processes and regulations in various reputed banks and financial institutions at home and abroad. He also has expertise in working on policy frameworks and cooperation at national and international levels He has Six Sigma Black Belts in Business Transformation, Business Process Management, Lean Management, Operational Risk Management and Service Quality Orientation. He has outstanding achievements in education as well.

Mominul Islam is the founder of Seelink Advisory. The firm operates in strategic financial advisory firms, investments, asset management and strategic transformation.

The circular also mentions that Mominul Islam joined a non-banking financial institution in Bangladesh in January 2012 as the youngest (35-year-old) managing director. He served as Managing Director and CEO of IPDC Finance Limited till January 2024 Prior to that he served as Deputy Managing Director from August 2008 to January 2012 and Head of Operations and Technology from April 2006 to July 2008.

Mominul Islam served as Head of Operational Risk, Project & BCP and Head of Reengineering & Service Quality (Additional Charge) at Standard Chartered Bank from October 2005 to March 2006. Worked at American Express Bank from May 2001 to October 2005, Reengineering and Projects, from January 2000 to May 2001 as an officer in the remittance department of the same institution. Mominul Islam started his career as an officer in American Express Bank in Chittagong in 1999.

Currently he is the Vice Chairman of ‘Adamya Foundation’, a charity for employment and skill development for the physically challenged.
