The Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan has developed several key support mechanisms aimed at helping farmers transition to more sustainable and efficient farming methods.

“As part of a joint project with the cooperative and the Development Agency, various financial instruments were proposed to help farmers master modern technologies. In particular, we are talking about stimulating the purchase of water-saving irrigation systems, which is crucial for protecting the country’s land and water resources. According to the terms program, farmers must pay at least 20% of the total cost when purchasing modern irrigation systems, which emphasizes their interest and involvement in the modernization process. The agency covers 40% of the costs through specialized institutions, and also assumes interest on loans,” she said. .

According to Jabbarli, one of the three main goals of the Harmony initiative will be to attract financing for climate projects.

“We are committed to discussing opportunities for projects to transform agriculture and the food system in November, together with government and development banks, as well as many international and governmental organizations. Our goal is to find additional financial resources and develop a comprehensive approach to promoting climate change. financing,” Jabbarli emphasized.
