This was one of the major achievements of our Presidency, the result of hard work by all negotiators. There are still unresolved Article 6 issues at COP29 , and I would like to thank Azerbaijan, as the incoming chair, for its timely understanding of the importance of this topic and its willingness to promote further progress. For our part, the UK will continue to seek a solution based on environmental and social justice that will provide the necessary clarity for market participants. We are ready to work constructively. with all parties to reach consensus in Baku,” the ambassador said.
He mentioned that the UK is taking action to create global carbon markets and to ensure developing countries have access to them.
