The Minister of Health of the National Unity Government, Ramadan Abu Jannah, discussed with the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health for Hospital Affairs and the heads of the Treatment Services Support and Development Service, the Ambulance and Emergency Service, and the Medical Insurance Authority, the implementation of the initiative he launched regarding the (Your Doctor in Your Home) program.
According to the Ministry of Health, the meeting discussed coordinating efforts to launch the first phase of implementing the program in the southern region, in coordination between the Ministry of Health, the Treatment Services Support and Development Agency, the Ambulance and Emergency Services, and the Medical Insurance Authority.
According to the Ministry, the program aims to provide health care to the elderly, people with special needs, and critical cases, in their places of residence through a trained medical team that provides home health services, to reduce the number of cases entering hospitals and health centers.
The program also aims to train patients’ home companions to care for their families through continuous follow-up and providing therapeutic services in wound cleaning, treatment, physical therapy, and collecting samples for patients from inside their homes.
It is noteworthy that holding this meeting comes in implementation of the recommendations of the monthly meeting held by the Minister of Health with the heads of bodies, councils, institutions, agencies, medical centers and health sector agents, on September 25 in the municipality of Al-Khoms, to discuss the health sector situation.
