The Rector of the National Sports Academy, Prof. Krasimir Petkov, and the President of the Bulgarian Football Union, Georgi Ivanov, signed a cooperation agreement.
The two signed the document in the presence of the vice-president of the BFS and assistant rector of the National Academy of Sciences Prof. Nikolay Izov, the deputy executive director of the BFS Dobrin Gyonov, the technical director Kiril Kotev, the director of development of children’s and youth football Lachezar Dimov, associate professor Emil Atanasov – Director of the Coaching School and Dean of the “Sports” Faculty, Valentin Dobrev – Director of the Administrative and Economic Activities of and Academic Management of the NSA.
The contract regulates the relations and activities in the educational and methodological, research and sports activities in which the two institutions plan to implement their partnership.
An important part of the cooperation will be the development of programs and methodologies for joint participation in scientific and scientific-applied projects and research within national and international programs.
Joint educational, scientific and sports activities and events will be organized and conducted, as well as educational and methodological seminars, scientific conferences and congresses.
In addition, an internship program will be opened at the BFS for training and development of personnel, and the basis of work will be the exchange of information and joint research activities.
The heads of the two institutions expressed mutual respect and recognition for the fruitful work so far and confidence in the success of the agreed cooperation.
“For the Bulgarian Football Union, it is a privilege to cooperate with an institution like the National Sports Academy, and we have high hopes for the development of this partnership in the future. I think that in our joint work in the future we will help the development of the professional staff that the only specialized higher school in the field of physical education and sports in Bulgaria prepares”, said the president of the BFS, Georgi Ivanov.
For his part, the rector of the National Sports Academy, Prof. Krasimir Petkov, expressed the will of the leadership of the National Sports Academy to assist and support the development of football, continuing the established traditions.
“I would like to give a very good recipe for success – continuity and appreciation of good personnel. When a good team is created in an organization and there is continuity for upgrading, things happen,” said Prof. Petkov, wishing success to the BFS management team.
