Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan is showing significant growth.

According to Day.Az, this was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Shahin Mustafaev at the celebration of Independence Day of Uzbekistan.

“Cooperation in the field of trade, economy and investment is one of the main priorities of our relations. Over the 7 months of this year, mutual trade turnover increased by 28% (USD 135.4 million). In accordance with the tasks set by the heads of our states, governments are making consistent efforts efforts to realize our rich potential in this direction,” he said.

Shahin Mustafayev noted that the meeting of the leaders of the two countries with representatives of business structures of both countries that took place in August deserves special attention from this point of view. “The presidents of our countries agreed to declare 2025 the “Year of Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan,” he said.

At the same time, according to him, the Joint Investment Fund created some time ago with an authorized capital of 500 million US dollars also serves these purposes.

“It’s gratifying that specific projects have already been presented to the Fund,” added the Deputy Prime Minister.
