“Holding such a prestigious evening in Baku with the participation of the strongest boxers in the world means the beginning of a new stage in the development of boxing in Azerbaijan.”
As reported by İdman.biz, Advisor to the President of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation Samir Huseynov told reporters about this after the weighing ceremony of the boxers who will take part in the IBA Boxing Night.
He noted that he believes in the Azerbaijani athletes who will take part in the IBA Boxing Night tournament:
“We wish success to our athletes participating in this competition. We believe that their performance will become motivation for our young boxers. It is planned to hold similar competitions in the coming years. We intend to organize similar competitions in Baku and other regions of the republic. One of Our main plans are to hold such a prestigious evening in Karabakh.”
Samir Huseynov also announced the prize fund of the competition:
“In this competition, the International Boxing Association provides prizes based on weight categories. The prize for the athlete who wins the main fight is $300 thousand. At the same time, the winner of the second fight, which will take place with the participation of Magomed Abdullaev, will receive a prize of 50 thousand dollars.”
It should be noted that on September 28, the IBA Boxing Evening will be held, which will be organized at the National Gymnastics Arena with the participation of the strongest boxers in the world. It will feature 8 fights with their participation. Azerbaijani athletes will be represented in 4 of these meetings.
