Initiated by the Regional Delegation of the High Commission for former resistance fighters and former members of the liberation army (HCAR), in partnership with the Toubkal Academy of Research and Social Studies, this meeting is part of the planned activities by the delegation since the beginning of November, for the celebration of the 47th anniversary of this historic epic.
The participants were unanimous in emphasizing the civilizational and human values of this glorious epic and this historic event, which aroused the admiration of the international community, noting that this peaceful march remains today an example of mobilization and national unity.
While noting that the Green March, a symbol of patriotism and sacrifices of the Moroccan people, aroused admiration in the four corners of the planet through its meticulous organization and its peaceful character, recalling that despite the international situation which accompanied this historic event, Morocco succeeded, thanks to the wisdom and foresight of the late HM Hassan II, in organizing this peaceful march, which concretely proved the importance of the peaceful resolution of regional and international conflicts.
Furthermore, the speakers highlighted the resounding successes achieved by Moroccan diplomacy, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, thus consolidating the Kingdom’s place in the concert of Nations and mobilizing the support of countless countries to Morocco’s position on the Sahara issue, the keystone of the country’s national unity.
In a statement to M24, the MAP continuous news television channel, the regional delegate of the HCAR, Mr. Kamal Aouant, underlined that this epic, which testifies to the symbiosis between the people and the Glorious Alaouite Throne, represents an opportunity to remember the importance of this major event in contemporary history as well as the civilizational and human values of this epic, which will remain forever engraved in the memory of all Moroccans.
And to let it be known that the delegation has scheduled other cultural activities as part of the celebration of this flagship epic in the history of Morocco.
In a similar statement, the president of the Toubkal Academy for research and social studies, Mr. Rachid Chahmi, indicated that this meeting offers the opportunity to highlight the mechanisms and strengthen the advocacy capacities to defend the first national cause and counter the allegations of enemies of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom.
The head of the Space for the Historical Memory of Resistance and Liberation in Marrakech, Ms. Kenza Allali, stressed that this conference aims to highlight the civilizational and human values of the Green March, “which we greatly need to revive and instill in the rising generations”.
On the menu of this conference are several presentations relating to the “human and civilizational values of the Green March”, “the methodology of pleading national causes: the Moroccan Sahara as an example”, “the Peaceful March as a civilizational means for liberation from the yoke of colonialism” and “the resounding successes of Moroccan diplomacy in the Moroccan Sahara issue”.
