The Commander of the Central Command of the United States Army (CENTCOM), General Kenneth McKenzie, today (Friday) completed his visit to Israel as the official guest of the Chief of Staff, Major General Aviv Kochavi. The visit opened yesterday, with an honor guard during which the Chief of Staff presented a special award to the General in recognition of his contribution to the cooperation between the armies. The ceremony was attended by members of the General Staff Forum and other commanders.
Afterwards, the general held meetings with the president, the prime minister and the defense minister and toured the Yad Vashem museum, where he attended a memorial service at the Yizkor tent and laid a wreath. In their joint meeting, General McKinsey and Chief of Staff Kochavi discussed security opportunities in the Middle East and the Gulf and joint action against emerging threats, led by Iran.
In the words of the Chief of the General Staff, Major General Aviv Kochavi: “This visit is another step in the relationship between the IDF and the US military and in the operational relationship with Santcom in recent years. The collaboration between us, led by McKinsey, has yielded many overt and covert operational successes.
