jpnn.comJAKARTA – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that the Presidential Decree (Keppres) regarding the transfer of the capital to the Archipelago Capital should be signed by President-elect Prabowo Subianto.
However, of course this is based on everything related to readiness in the new capital city having been fulfilled.
“Yes, that’s how it should be, the new President is Pak Prabowo (who signed it),” said Jokowi after opening the Nusantara TNI Fun Run at IKN, East Kalimantan, Sunday (6/10).
The President previously said he could not decide on strategic decisions at the end of his term of office with three weeks remaining.
However, regarding the Presidential Decree on moving the capital city, he said, this also concerns the readiness of everything in the capital city.
“Once again I say, moving the capital city is not only a physical matter, but building an ecosystem is what is necessary and that ecosystem must be finished,” he said.
He said that moving to the capital city must ensure the readiness of all supporting infrastructure such as hospitals, educational facilities from kindergartens, elementary schools, middle/vocational high schools to universities, and there needs to be busy centers such as restaurants and food stalls.
“Then there are problems related to logistics, where we are looking for something, where we are looking for something, want to buy something, everything has to be ready. If now the apartment is ready, but the office is not, what do you want,” he said.
President Jokowi said that the Presidential Decree should be signed by Prabowo Subianto.
