Things remained quiet at the Niedersachsensenderby in Braunschweig on Sunday. But afterwards around 200 people clashed.
According to the police on Sunday evening, 150 members of the violent Braunschweig fan scene and 50 people from the violent Hanover fan scene had an argument in a restaurant in Adenbüttel. This resulted in physical injuries and property damage. The town in the Gifhorn district is about 15 kilometers from the Eintracht Stadium.
Before and during the game it was quiet in the afternoon. Because of the riots at previous derbies, only 60 percent of the usual number of guest tickets were allowed to be sold this time. The organized 96 fans did not come to the game in protest. And numerous Eintracht supporters also expressed their solidarity with them and refrained from loudly supporting them in the stadium. Braunschweig and Hanover share one of the bitterest rivalries in German professional football.
