/ The Zakho Club administration announced on Saturday that it had filed a complaint against the Police Club for violating the regulations of the Iraqi Football Association in the last match between Zakho and the Police, which took place yesterday, Friday, within the eighth round of the Iraqi Stars Football League.
The club’s president, Ammar Farhad, told Agency, “The regulations set by the federation indicate the contracting of 6 professional players, four of whom will be among its teams, playing below the 90 international rating, and only two above the 90 international rating.”
The club president confirmed that “the police team fielded three players above the 90 rating, and this is a clear violation of the regulations that were set by the Iraqi Federation.”
He pointed out that “the Federation has set 24 hours to file a complaint in this regard if the violation occurs, and we submitted the complaint to the Federation immediately after the match to take the decision that stipulates that in the event of any violation of the regulations, that club will be considered a loser with a score of 0-3 without a financial fine,” continuing to say “ We are awaiting a disciplinary decision from the Federation that does justice to our team.”
He stated that “the police may have violated the regulations in previous matches he played in the last rounds, but he is not considered a loser in those rounds because the teams that faced him did not file a complaint against him in this regard, but we discovered that and filed the complaint according to the regulations.”
Al-Shorta Club defeated its guest, Zakho, with a score of 2-0, in the eighth round of the Iraqi Stars Football League 2023-2024, in the match that took place at Najaf Stadium yesterday, Friday, at seven in the evening.
For his part, Tahseen Al-Yasiri, a member of the Police Club, told Agency, “We have signed the lists of a number of professional players since last year, before the federation’s decision to designate the professionals, and the federation approved that without explaining to us, objecting, or rejecting.”
He added, “We also signed with the professionals, including the two Syrians, on August 15,” noting that the transfer market was closed on November 23, that is, eight days after completing our successive contracts with the remaining professionals. “So who is responsible for this defect?” ?, Especially since the Iraqi Federation ratified all of our contracts and did not object.
Al-Yasiri expressed his astonishment at the number of Zakho complaints after every victory we achieved over his football team, explaining that “this is the fourth complaint after we won four times. After each victory, the Zakho club raises an objection, a complaint against us with the federation under various pretexts.”
