Patna: Former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Yadav, his sons Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav will appear in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court on Monday in the land-for-jobs case. ED had filed a supplementary charge sheet in this case, after which the court has sent summons to all three. Lalu Yadav and his family are accused of taking land in exchange for jobs while being Railway Minister. Lalu Yadav has left for Delhi by flight from Patna. At the same time, Tejashwi Yadav has also returned to Delhi from a foreign tour.

Tej Pratap appears for the first time in Land For Jab case

Tej Pratap Yadav will appear in court for the first time in this case. In the last hearing, the court had said that Tej Pratap Yadav was also involved in the acquisition of land and hiding the income from it. Therefore, he should also be summoned on the supplementary complaint.

ED alleges that Lalu Prasad Yadav along with his family and associates conspired to hide the property earned from crime. ED says that when Lalu Yadav was the Railway Minister, he got land owners in Patna’s Mahua Bagh bought cheaply by promising them jobs in the Railways.

The entire Lalu family is entangled in the land issue in exchange for job.

ED alleges that many lands were already near the land of Lalu Yadav family. Six of these lands were related to Rabri Devi. According to ED, this case pertains to between 2004 and 2009, when Lalu Prasad Yadav was the Railway Minister. This matter is related to Group-D appointments in West Central Zone of Railways in Jabalpur. ED says that land was gifted or sold cheaply to Lalu Yadav’s family and his close ones, and in return jobs were given. In this case the court has sent summons to all the eight accused.

This case is a big legal challenge for Lalu Yadav and his family. If the allegations against him are proved, he may also be sentenced to jail. This matter can also affect the politics of Bihar.
