Ratzabi started his career at Hapoel Petah Tikva, was loaned to Hapoel Mahane Yehuda, and in the 1958/59 season returned to Hapoel. He is part of the team’s glorious championship generation, and played alongside Nahum Stelmach, Zakaria Ratzabi, Boaz Kaufman, Shlomo Nahari and more. He was a partner in Hapoel winning four championships.
Hapoel Petah Tikva issued the following announcement: “The Hapoel Petah Tikva football club bows its head upon learning of the death today (Friday) of the club’s championship generation player, Avshalom Ratzabi, at the age of 85. The late Ratzabi was one of the great players in the glorious golden generation of The club in the 50s and 60s. The late Avshalom, played in an extreme left-wing position, and grew up in the youth department of Hapoel Petah Tikva. Avshalom joined his brother, Zechariah, in the luxury team of Hapoel Petah Tikva, after it won its second championship. The late Avshalom was a key player in four of the championships the team won, on the way to a historic streak of five championships in a row. In total, the late Avshalom Ratzabi completed seven seasons in the blue uniform, in which he won four championships, scored 37 goals and participated in 127 games. The date of the funeral of the late Avshalom Ratzabi will be announced later.
