Like other cities in Guinea, Coyah celebrated this Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Guinea’s accession to national sovereignty.
This anniversary celebration began with the laying of the wreath at the martyrs’ square by the prefect, Colonel Yaya Kalissa.
From Martyrs’ Square, the prefect and his entourage went to the Coyah Prefectural Stadium for the big parade where the population of Soumbouyah responded massively to the call from the prefectural and municipal authorities for this celebration.
On behalf of the working populations of the Urban Commune of Coyah, the President of the special delegation of Coyah, Fodé Morlaye Bangoura made it clear: “October 2, 1958 remains engraved in memories. On this happy occasion, the special delegation from Coyah expresses its commitment to continuing the path and remaining faithful to the initiatives of the government effectively managed by Prime Minister Amadou Oury Bah. We once again reiterate the commitment of the dynamic population of Coyah to remain mobilized in any possible support of the CNRD and its president His Excellency Lieutenant General Mamadi Doumbouya”
.After placing particular emphasis on Guinea’s accession to independence and the career of the different heads of state who have succeeded one another at the head of the country, the prefect, Colonel Yaya Kalissa hammered home for the occasion: “ Since the effective seizure of power by the defense and security forces on September 5, 2021 under the enlightened vision of the Head of State, the Lieutenant General whom the population must support because of his remarkable contribution and benevolence . It must be reiterated midway that the implementation of the unified social register constitutes a strong point of support and assistance for Guinean civil servants in activity or retired. »
At the same time, he reiterated; “We thank the technical and financial partners who support our country. The population of Coyah supports the initiatives of Lieutenant General Mamadi Doumbouya. She promises to support him in the execution of his noble mission until the end of the unfinished actions undertaken.”
This celebration of 66 years of independence of Guinea in Coyah ended with a reading of the Holy Quran at the Elhadj Oumar Camara Grand Mosque in Coyah where prayers and blessings were offered by imams and wise men in favor of the Guinean populations. .
