Organized under the theme “Everything begins with a book”, this edition, scheduled for November 6 to 17, offers a rich program ranging from history and heritage to the contemporary culture of the Kingdom, including academic research and literary creation.

Speaking on this occasion during a press conference, the Moroccan Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Ahmed Tazi, indicated that the choice of the Kingdom of Morocco as guest of honor of the Fair reflects the high quality of fraternal relations and solidarity between Morocco and the United Arab Emirates, which relations, founded by the late HM Hassan II and the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, are renewed and strengthened by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and HH Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

And to add that the participation of Morocco as guest of honor is a major cultural event, given the importance of the fair which strengthens, with each edition, its international position among the most prestigious book fairs in the world. world.

With this in mind, the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication has taken all necessary measures to ensure quality Moroccan participation, aiming to leave a positive imprint and grant the book, as a vector of culture Moroccan, its rightful place, noted the Moroccan diplomat.

The Moroccan participation program includes meetings highlighting cultural cooperation between Morocco and the United Arab Emirates, the book industry in Morocco as well as debates and meetings with philosophers, thinkers, writers, critics, scholars, poets and authors.

The show public will also have the opportunity to discover a rich documentary exhibition of Moroccan publishers, with the participation of 22 Moroccan publishing houses presenting more than 4,000 titles in the sales area, covering all areas of production. Moroccan intellectual and creative.

Moroccan music, theater and cinema will also be in the spotlight as part of the show’s artistic program, with a series of shows reflecting the richness and diversity of Moroccan artistic heritage.

Among the many genres of Moroccan music, three ensembles representing different styles and regions were selected, namely, Gnawa music, of African origin and listed by UNESCO as the intangible cultural heritage of humanity, Issawa music , Sufi songs in honor of the Prophet, originating in Morocco and broadcast in several North African countries, or the Taskiwin dance, a popular dance recently listed by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage.

On the theater side, the “Backstage of art and culture” troupe will present a series of shows combining modern staging techniques and historical stories on Moroccan heritage and arts, all in a musical and poetic atmosphere. The show’s audience will also be able to attend the screening of a selection of Moroccan films.

The program will also highlight Moroccan gastronomy, allowing visitors to the show to taste a variety of iconic Moroccan dishes throughout the event, prepared by Moroccan chefs.
