In Azerbaijan, very serious attention is paid to publishing, promotion of book reading and education, this area is constantly developing, the Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan told reporters Adil Kerimli within the tenth Baku International Book Fair – 2024reports Day.Az with reference to Trend.
“The state is creating all the conditions for expanding the publishing industry, increasing the production of literature, and increasing reader interest. The culture of reading is very important for the development of society, the promotion of ancient culture and national heritage, and the presentation of our values to the world. This year the guest of honor at the exhibition is ISESCO, with which we have “We are widely developing ties in the field of culture and education. As you know, ISESCO declared the city of Shusha this year as the cultural capital of the Islamic world, within the framework of which many projects are being presented. We invite everyone to visit the exhibition and take part in various interesting events,” the minister said.
Baku International Book Fair – 2024, which takes place from October 2 to 8, is dedicated to the 530th anniversary of the birth of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Muhammad Fizuli (1494-1556). The exhibition is attended by 56 foreign organizations, famous writers and poets, scientists, young writers from 18 countries, representing 4 continents, 110 local publishing houses and enterprises related to the book business. As part of the exhibition, a rich program has been prepared, more than 300 events will take place, including master classes for children and adults, presentations of books on inclusivity and other relevant topics, autograph sessions, conferences, symposiums, competitions, reading and music evenings, organized platforms for cooperation between subjects of the book industry. The 16th meeting of the Asian Committee “Storytelling Art”, of which Azerbaijan is a member, will also be held.
For those wishing to visit the exhibition at the Baku Expo Center, special buses depart from the Elmlar Akademiyasi, 28 May and Koroglu metro stations.
The exhibition will be open to the public every day from October 2 to 8 from 10:00 to 20:00. Admission is free.
