He will leave Dhaka for Washington on Monday (October 7).

According to a source of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jasim Uddin will go to Washington, USA on his first assignment as Foreign Secretary. From there he is supposed to go to New York. Various issues including trade, investment, development cooperation, defense, counter-terrorism, climate change, Rohingya crisis can be discussed during this visit.

Jasim Uddin is scheduled to meet with senior officials of the State Department, White House and USTR during the visit. Besides, he will also hold various committee meetings and meetings with senior officials at the United Nations. He is also scheduled to meet with the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Foreign Secretary in this regard. Jasim Uddin said that there has been a qualitative change in Dhaka’s relationship with Washington due to the changed situation. The US President’s meeting with the Chief Advisor is a reflection of that. I hope to discuss in my visit to Washington how to advance cooperation in various fields as well as reforms along the path of talks between the two top leaders.

Incidentally, the foreign secretary is scheduled to leave for the country on October 14 after completing all formalities in Washington and New York.
