One of the best things about living in Italy (or visiting frequently) is heading to one of the many different locations catering places the country has to offer and perfect a classic dish from whatever region you’re visiting, whether it’s a juicy Florentine steak in Tuscany or a plate of flavorful caponata in Sicily.

Knowing where to go, however, can sometimes be an overwhelming task, especially with the countless tourist traps dotted around major cities and the sheer number of options.

Luckily the food experts at the 50 Top Italy food network recently tried and tested the best places to eat for 2025 across the country, releasing their rankings early last week.

Experts indicate among the “excellent cured meats, the unbeatable cream tortellini, the nettle lasagna, the tagliatelle with meat sauce and the restine with porcini mushrooms” (a type of pasta) together with “ribeye, liver, offal and fried kidneys” .
