The Ministry of Economy is discussing cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme

The Minister of Economy and Trade in the Government of National Unity, Muhammad Al-Hawaij, met with the Director of the United Nations Development Program in Libya, Sophie Kim Khaza.

The meeting discussed aspects of cooperation in implementing the economic development and economic diversification plan in Libya.

The two parties reviewed “the cooperation and technical support mechanism provided by the United Nations program to Libyan government institutions, with the aim of enhancing the implementation of the development plan and improving economic conditions in the country in accordance with the seventeen sustainable development goals of the United Nations Vision 2030.”

During the meeting, Al-Hawaij stressed “the importance of implementing a package of economic reforms through a unified mechanism between Libyan financial and economic institutions, noting the need to benefit from successful international experiences in this context, which helps enhance political stability in the country.”

The meeting was attended by a number of officials from the Ministry of Economy and Trade, including the directors of the Economic Studies and Reforms Department, the Private Sector Development and Investment Department, and the Director of the Internal Trade Department.
