Public law broadcasters ARD and ZDF are temporarily suspending broadcasts from studios in Moscow. The decision was made against the backdrop of the adoption of a new Russian law on fakes, which provides for imprisonment of up to 15 years. The management of TV channels is studying the consequences of this law, a representative of the Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) told the German publication Die Zeit Online. According to her, TV channels will continue to “comprehensively inform the audience about what is happening in Ukraine and Russia” from other broadcasting places.
Earlier, several international media have already announced that they will completely or partially stop their work in Russia. Among them are the American television company CNN, the British BBC, the Canadian broadcaster CBC and the American news agency Bloomberg.

General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine published information about the losses of the Russian army since the beginning of the war in Ukraine. According to the General Staff, 10 thousand Russian servicemen were killed in 10 days of fighting. “The data is being specified. The calculation is complicated by the high intensity of hostilities,” the General Staff said in a Facebook post.
The Russian side only once reported its losses during the war against Ukraine. On March 2, Igor Konashenkov, spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry, said that the loss of personnel of the Russian troops by those killed amounted to 498 people. It is not possible to verify this data.
