The Minister of Public Works, Romeo Rodríguez, delivered this Tuesday the <a href="https://time.news/authorities-delivers-danger-mitigation-work-within-the-el-bosque-neighborhood-san-salvador-2024-06-16-233723/" title="Authorities delivers danger mitigation work within the El Bosque neighborhood, San Salvador
– 2024-06-16 23:37:23″>mitigation works carried out in the La Lechuza stream, located in the Las Palmas community, in the center of San Salvador.
The interventions, which cover an area of 900 square meters, seek to protect the life and heritage of the families residing in the area.
“We wanted to do everything humanly possible to protect the life and heritage of Salvadoran families, as President Nayib Bukele has instructed us,” said the minister during the delivery event.
The La Lechuza ravine has been the scene of progressive landslides that endangered the inhabitants of Las Palmas. However, with mitigation works, that risk has been left in the past, providing security to the community and reducing the danger of future natural disasters. This effort is part of the government’s initiatives to safeguard vulnerable populations from natural threats, such as landslides and torrential rains that affect the country.
